Scientific name: Asteraceae
Coreopsis is one of my favorite flowers in spring and early summer. A genus of Daisy-like plants, they are excellent for the borders of your flower beds. Most are native to the southeastern United States and Mexico. They are not the least bit fussy about soil but are suppose to be planted in full sun. Mine grow in partial shade with no problem. Cut stems back after the first flush of flowers fade to promote a repeat bloom. This flower is often referred to as “tickseed”.
