Another one of my projects for the cabin. This piece is actually one of the first pieces of used furniture I purchased about 39 years ago. The front legs had gotten broken and it had been stored in our shed for years. Needing furniture for the cabin, we got it down and replaced the legs with unfinished legs purchased from Lowe’s. I couldn’t find the exact height I needed so I purchased the legs slightly longer and had my husband cut them to the right length. I painted it with one coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in the color Graphite. The next step is to distress or sand the piece in area’s that would naturally wear with time. Last step is to brush one coat of Annie Sloan clear soft Wax and then buff with a soft cloth.
I had the knobs from a previous project but they were gold. I dry brushed and hand rubbed Baroque Art Gilders Paste in the color silver and was pretty happy with the way they turned out.
What are your thoughts on the Annie Sloan paint or do you have another favorite that you use?
